Men In Black International tries and seemingly fails to reinvigorate the franchise that started off at such a high point with the first film.
We find two new agents sent on a worldwide adventure to of course save the world. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson try their best here with the material they are given but with many jokes not landing at all (no laughs in my audience except for a few moments) and a predictable twist you can see coming from the first act the overall experience of this film was very average, it wasn’t bad but I can’t say it was very enjoyable either.
The main highlight here is anything Kumail Nanjiani’s side character is involved in as he provides some much needed humour and lands every joke perfectly.
If you are a big fan of the franchise Men In Black International may provide somewhat of an enjoyable time.
Thanks to Sony Pictures Australia for the advance screening for this review.
